Howard's TV Presenting
Howard is currently writing a new series on the history of music for the BBC to be broadcast in Autumn 2012.
Howard has written and presented six of his own series, originally for Channel 4: Howard Goodalls Organ Works (1996), Howard Goodalls Choir Works (1998), Howard Goodall's Big Bangs (2000), Howard Goodall's Great Dates (2002), Howard Goodall's 20th Century Greats (2004) and How Music Works (2006). All have been produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and broadcast around the world. Some of these series are currently being aired in the UK on Sky Arts along with his Sky Arts series THE MUSIC ROOM. Howard's series have won many awards, listed here.
In addition to his own series, Howard has presented various music programmes on TV, including the BBC's Choir of the Year competition from 1990 to 2002, Young Musician of the Year and BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year. In December 2004 Howard wrote and presented a South Bank Show, Musical Nation, on the state of music education in Britain. He has presented two special features for BBC Religion & Ethics, The Truth about Carols (2008) and Hallelujah! The Story of Handel's Messiah (2009). He has written and presented his own series, Classical Connections (2003-2005) & Howard Goodall's Class Acts (2008) for BBC Radio 2 as well as presenting his own weekly show on Classic FM.
