As Classic FM’s composer in residence Howard Goodall has been asked to write a new commission which will be premièred a Gala Concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 25th April 2013.  However, the commission is slightly unusual in that it is to celebrate the work of a charity – Cancer Research UK.  The new composition – More Tomorrows – is inspired by the charity’s supporters, volunteers, cancer survivors and scientists who are dedicating their lives to beating cancer.

Classic FM is following Howard’s compositional journey through a set of films.  The first, where he meets the charity’s chief clinician and someone who benefited from the work of the charity, gives a very good introduction to the research which the composer is doing to ensure his work reflects the amazing dedication and inspiring stories of Cancer Research UK.
