Howard Goodall’s emotionally charged Choral/Orchestral work, Invictus: A Passion, comes to West Green House under the direction of Howard Ionascu with the 35 voices of The Chapel Choir of Winchester College to be a major production for West Green House Opera 2021. With soloists from The Sixteen, Kirsty Hopkins and Mark Dobell and a chamber orchestra, this work addresses the universal messages contained in one of the most powerful religious stories.

Invictus will be the principal work in this evening’s programme. Howard Goodall is one of Britain’s best known composers of choral music, but we all know his TV and film scores, especially from such shows as “The Vicar of Dibley”, “QI”, “Mr Bean” and “Blackadder“. The first half will feature much loved favourites from the choral repertoire.
