Music Room with Howard Goodall

Howard Goodall meets some of the world’s finest classical musicians in a series of 8 programmes featuring performances and insightful interviews.

Joining the Music Room with Howard Goodall to reveal their influences, career highlights and rehearsal secrets will be acclaimed pianist Lang Lang, who was first inspired to play Western music by an episode of Tom and Jerry; leading cellist Julian-Lloyd Webber; award-winning violinist Nicola Benedetti; British trumpet soloist Alison Balsom; accomplished Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes; popular jazz and classical clarinettist Emma Johnson; Young Musician of the Year Natalie Clein (cello) and Scottish virtuoso percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie.

In intimate performance sessions they play a wide variety of music, from the classics of great composers to unknown folk ballads and pieces written by friends, family and even themselves.
